Who Do You Think They Were?

Online registration for this event has closed. Walk-ins will be welcomed at the door.

The Paralegal Alumni Network welcomes all Loyolans to their annual spring lecture. Join LUC alumna Ginger Frere as she teaches guests how to begin their genealogy search as well as information about the intricacies of searching church records. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception with light appetizers and beverages prior to the 6:30 p.m. presentation.

Genealogy is the study of families in a genetic and historical context as well as the relationships among them. Many people start out tracing their lineage but get hooked on learning the stories of the individuals they uncover. Ginger will share how genealogists set standards in their research to do the job right.

A life-long Chicagoan, Ginger has been involved in family history for many years. As the sole proprietor of Information Diggers, she provides a variety of historical research services, and can also be found working at the reference desk in the Genealogy and Local History Section at the Newberry Library. She is co-director of ChicagoAncestors.org, a free website for finding and sharing historical information about Chicago. Ginger is a Loyola graduate, twice over - BA and MBA, married to a Loyola graduate, and has a daughter who received her BSN at Loyola and is currently working on her MSN.
