For alumni who currently use the libraries, please read below as some policies may have changed.
Obtain a Card
The Alumni Card is available through the Campus Card office located at both Lake Shore, Water Tower and Health Sciences Campuses.

Alumni can access the Information Commons and Lewis Libraries between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and midnight only.
Access from midnight – 8:00 a.m. is restricted to students, faculty, and staff.

Where do I request access to a University computer? What information will I need to provide?
Access to a workstation can be requested at the Lake Shore Campus (Information Commons first floor service desk) or the Water Tower Campus (Corboy Law Center - Room 608). You must present a government issued ID along with your alumni card for each visit.
To access the Lewis Library at the Water Tower Campus, you must also present your government issued ID and alumni card at the Corboy Law Center front desk to access the building.
During your first visit to request an Access Pass, ITS staff member will also require the following information:
- First and Last Name
- Phone Number
- Email Address
After providing the above information on your first visit, future visits will only require verification that your information has not changed.
May I use my own personal device on the wireless network?
Yes, University guests can now connect to the “LUC-Guest” wireless network. Self-registration requires a valid e-mail address or phone number to receive credentials. Guest accounts are limited to eight hours and have limits on download and upload speeds. Any guest can get free internet access at any Wireless Access Point on campus.

If you graduated after
and have opted-in to retain your LUC email address for lifetime access, you have permission to access the Loyola wifi network. To access the wifi network, select faculty/staff/student option when prompted, enter your Loyola login credentials. (email and password) To opt-in to retain your email address, visit: http://www.luc.edu/alumniemail
If you have not retained your LUC email address, or if you graduated prior to May 2011, please contact ITS Help Desk at email@example.com
or 773.508.4487 to request on-campus wifi access. Your student login credentials will be reactivated for access to the wifi network. Please note, your request may take 7-14 business days to process, and therefore must be requested in advance of your visit. ITS will not process urgent requests.
Once you receive your login credentials, to access the wifi network, select faculty/staff/student option when prompted, enter your Loyola login credentials (email and password). Those who never had an email while at Loyola will be assigned new login credentials.

May I check out equipment from Digital Media Services, or reserve group study rooms?
Checkout of equipment or use of group study rooms is restricted to enrolled and active Loyola students, or employed faculty and staff.
Where are the alumni workstations located?
Alumni workstations are located on the 1st Floor of the Information Commons and on the 6th Floor of the Corboy Law Center in Room 608. An Access Pass will provide specific location information for the workstations.
What applications are available on the alumni workstations?
All alumni workstations have the following applications installed:

Can I save my work to the workstation?
While using University lab workstations, you are strongly encouraged not to save your work directly to the workstation. Instead, consider using external USB-based storage. When you are finished using a workstation, it is important that you log out immediately. When you restart or log out of a workstation all personal information, documents and resources are deleted. Additionally, all computers will automatically log out after thirty (30) minutes of inactivity or when your session time expires. All work that is not saved to external storage will be lost.
How long can I use a workstation?
Alumni are provided three (3) hours of workstation access per day. If no other alumni are waiting for access to a workstation, you can extend your time in thirty (30) minute increments directly from your workstation. If other alumni are waiting for a workstation, this option will not be available.
Can I print my documents from a work station? How much does it cost?
Alumni can print from lab printers using a Courtesy Card. Cards are available to purchase for $1 and funds can be added in cash from the multiple Value Port terminals locations around each campus. There is a per-page fee for print jobs from the alumni workstations. The following rates apply for printing:

Loyola alumni who graduated after May 2011 will be allowed to keep their LUC email address for as long as they like -- even for life! Eligible alumni can opt in to Alumni Email for Life by visiting www.luc.edu/alumniemail.
Alumni who hold a valid alumni library card and a government-issued photo ID are able to use University Library facilities, borrow books and be granted access to certain databases while on campus. Services available include:
- Use materials and services at the university's Cudahy, Lewis, and Health Science library branches.
- Charge up to 100 books.
- Keep books for 6 weeks with an option to renew for unlimited additional periods (with the exception of the Health Sciences library, where the lending period is 21 days). (You can renew books from the library catalog by logging in with your email address and last name as your default password. Please update your password to something you will remember.)
- Request books owned by the Loyola Libraries for pickup at the circulation desk of your choice, using the library catalog.
- Request "in-process" books before they have been shelved.
- Request scans of articles from the Loyola Libraries (subject to limitations in peak periods).
- View videos from the collections within the libraries.
- Access selected web resources with a guest computer login. (Please note that due to contractual agreements, we cannot provide access to these resources from off-campus for Alumni.)
Access to the Law Library (located on the 3rd floor of the Corboy Law Center) is restricted to law alumni only. Access and borrowing information can be found online here
