The Loyola room inside 1871 is open to Loyola students, faculty, staff and alumni ONLY IF you are a current 1871 member. The room is equipped with a white board, TV monitor, wireless internet, and a conference phone to meet all of your entrepreneurial workspace needs. If you are a Loyola alumnus/a AND an existing member of 1871, e-mail 1871@luc.edu to reserve the room. If you are interested in purchasing a membership , please do so directly through 1871 by clicking here. We are unfortunately unable to offer the room to alumni who are not members of 1871 per 1871 policy. 

Career Development Center
The Career Development Center was your go-to place for all things career while you were at Loyola, and it still can be! As an alumnus/a of Loyola, you have access to the following services:

Advising Alumni receive unlimited career advising, resume/C.V. assistance, and career assessments either in person, via video conferencing (Skype), or via telephone; Appointments are made via a service HOTLINE at 773.508.7716.

Alumni Job Club Alumni challenged by a prolonged period of unemployment or under-employment may qualify for a free Alumni Job Club. This lunch time meeting group involves a 6-week curriculum within a small group of peers, led by a professional career adviser to help identify success strategies that are designed to change the job search outcomes of the alumni. This club runs multiple times each year and is hosted by Loyola’s Career Development Center.

Career Fairs Meet with a variety of employers at the same time, gather information about each company, practice your pitch and interview skills, and find out what employers are looking for in today’s competitive market.

Jesuit Career Network Access
Alumni who reside closer to another Jesuit University or College may qualify for career services at that institution. Reciprocal career services vary by institution and may include:
•    Access to employment and internship postings
•    Submission of a resume to the school’s database of active resumes
•    Career advising services (in-person, via phone or Skype) and access to career resources
•    Access to sponsored career fairs, workshops, and networking events

The Career Transitions Center of Chicago (CTC)

CTC’s mission is to provide professional, emotional and spiritual support to those seeking a job, looking for meaningful work, and to enhance the employability of incumbent workers. CTC is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization providing professional assistance to individuals in career and employment transition. Services include:
•    One-on-one and group sessions with career coaches
•    Weekly professional development workshops
•    Access to the business center with high speed internet, telephones and copy machines.
•    Special Programs on self-awareness/assessment and creative career direction.

Education Consortium Career Fair
The largest Education Fair in Chicago—the Education Consortium Career Fair brings together a variety of schools and educational organizations to hire teachers, administrators, counselors and more in the Education sector! Open to Loyola, DePaul and University of Illinois at Chicago undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. $10 at the door for non-consortium attendees.

Toastmasters Club
If you are looking to improve your public speaking skills, communication, or leadership skills in a supportive, safe, and fun environment, join the Loyola Toastmasters Club!
Loyola Alumni Relations has arranged a $10 subsidy of the membership fee for Loyola alumni only. The regular Toastmaster's fee is $45 for 6 months with a one-time initiation fee of $20 for materials.
Meetings take place once a week.

The club is open to all in the Loyola community.
